The pre-study must identify what works well presently and what needs to be improved/changed. What key results do you want to get out of the project? What are the critical success factors and what risks can you foresee in the execution? Be clear on the pre-requisites and don't under-estimate the challenges.

Who will be responsible for taking the necessary action? Set up a project team and assign responsibility. Set a deadline, monitor on a regular basis and above all – cooperate.

Measure before, during and after the implementation. It's a good idea to measure both qualitative and quantitative benefits.

To be successful, the IT project requires motivation and positive, committed employees. Don't forget to also engage the end users in the project. Start with the most positive employees and save the least positive for last. Let them be gradually persuaded.
